How do I find DLA solicitations on DIBBS that are not just RFQs but actual RFPs or IFBs?

I'm looking for some help navigating DIBBS to find larger DLA opportunities. My company sells fasteners and MRO parts, and I've been using DIBBS for years, submitting about 2,000 quotes annually for RFQs. I see the notifications for RFQs pop up constantly.

However, I know DLA also issues RFPs and IFBs for bigger contracts, but I can't seem to find them effectively. The DIBBS search interface seems to be heavily geared toward the smaller RFQs. I’ve tried filtering by 'Solicitation Type' but it still shows a ton of RFQs mixed in or I get no results. Are there specific search parameters or advanced filters I should be using to zero in on actual RFPs or IFBs? Or do these larger solicitations get posted somewhere else first, like SAM.gov, before they appear on DIBBS?

DIBBS is indeed heavily geared towards RFQs, but you can find RFPs and IFBs there by using specific filters and understanding where DLA posts larger opportunities.

First, for larger DLA solicitations, check SAM.gov. Proposed contract actions expected to exceed $25,000 must be synopsized in SAM.gov, per FAR 5.101(a)(1). This means many of the bigger RFPs and IFBs will appear there first, or exclusively. DIBBS is designed for DLA items of supply, and while it does show RFPs and IFBs, SAM.gov is the governmentwide point of entry.

On DIBBS, when you search, use the "Solicitation Type" filter. Select "RFP" or "IFB" specifically, rather than leaving it broad. You may need to refine your search terms or product codes to narrow down the results, as the volume of RFQs can still be high. Often, the larger opportunities on DIBBS will also have a longer response time, which can be another indicator that it is an RFP or IFB rather than a quick RFQ.
