What we store
govcon.forum stores the username, display name, email address and password hash you give us at sign-up, the optional profile fields (title, city, website, SAM Unique Entity ID), the questions, answers, comments and votes you post, and the time you last visited while logged in. Server logs and edge analytics record page requests without identifying you.
What the email address is for
Your address is used to confirm the account, to send a one-time login link when you ask for one, and to tell you about a reply to your own thread if you turn that on in settings. It is never shown on the site, never sold and never added to a newsletter. A verified .gov or .mil address earns the Gov buyer badge; the badge is shown, the address is not.
Cookies and bot checks
One session cookie (gf_session) keeps you logged in for 90 days. Sign-up, login and magic-link forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to keep bots out; Turnstile may set its own cookie on those pages. No advertising or third-party tracking cookies are set by the forum.
Your RFPFinder account
If the same email address has an RFPFinder account, your settings page shows the plan it is on so you can tell the two apart. Nothing else is shared between the forum and RFPFinder.
Deleting your account
Ask through the RFPFinder contact page from your registered address and the account is removed within a few days. Posts stay attributed to a deleted-member placeholder so threads keep making sense; ask in the same message if you want specific posts removed as well.
