How often must a SAM.gov entity registration be renewed to remain active?

Hey everyone,

I'm trying to keep up with all the federal contracting requirements for my landscaping company. We're going after grounds maintenance contracts for federal facilities, using NAICS 561730. I just submitted a quote for an RFQ on SAM.gov, a small business set-aside, and I want to make sure I don't miss anything that would make my bid invalid.

I know we have to be registered in SAM.gov to even submit an offer, and we got our Unique Entity ID (UEI) and CAGE code back in March. I'm just trying to figure out how often I need to go back in and renew the whole registration. Is it every year, or is there a different cycle? I want to make sure I'm always active for new opportunities.

A SAM.gov entity registration must be renewed every 365 days to stay active. Your registration has to be active both when you submit an offer or quotation and at the time of award. The Unique Entity ID (UEI) is assigned by SAM.gov during registration, and your CAGE code is part of that process. Remember that there is no cost to register or renew your SAM.gov entity registration.

This annual renewal applies to federal contracting opportunities. State and local government procurement processes are separate. If you pursue grounds maintenance contracts for state or county facilities, you will need to check the requirements of each state or local government's procurement portal for their vendor registration and renewal cycles. Each state runs its own vendor registration portals.
